About the Brand, Marketing & Communications Division

To develop Singapore into a thriving innovation-driven economy and loveable city by design, the Brand, Marketing & Communications (BMC) division raises the level of design appreciation on home ground by amplifying Dsg’s initiatives, publicising Singapore design and designers, and advocating the impact and value of design. The division also advances the Singapore Design Brand internationally, elevating Singapore’s reputation as a leading UNESCO Creative City of Design and a thought leader for Global-Asian design excellence.

About this Role

As Project Consultant (Brand) at the DesignSingapore Council’s (Dsg) BMC Division, you will play an integral role in leading and shaping the brand strategy for Dsg, planning and executing Dsg’s overall branding efforts, with a focus on strengthening market positioning locally and internationally, while ensuring brand consistency across all touchpoints.   • You take ownership and collaborate well with internal teams and external stakeholders, including media partners, to ensure consistent and effective brand messaging.
  • You love learning new things, and seek to understand the design industry, Dsg and the universe of its stakeholders in order to create, curate and distribute relevant and compelling branded content to inspire specific target audience groups into action.
  • You are motivated and driven, and will continuously seek to drive positive coverage of Dsg programmes/initiatives through both mainstream and alternative media, including amplification, and are always on the lookout for advocates and thought leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Strategy & Insights

  • Build and implement brand strategies to strengthen Dsg’s identity locally and globally.
  • Conduct market research and analyse competitors to identify growth opportunities and challenges.
  • Implement, track and report brand health metrics, including audits and brand equity analysis.
  • Provide insights to enhance marketing campaigns and recommend strategies for improved brand performance.

 Brand Custodianship

  • Oversee brand guideline adherence across all Dsg materials, ensuring consistency in visual and messaging identity
  • Collaborate with divisions to develop brand assets and maintain alignment across touchpoints.

 Supporting Overall Marcomms

  • Manage specific projects, coordinate cross-functional meetings, and drive achievement of Dsg’s targets.
  • Handle community management, responding to inquiries on email and social media on a rostered basis.

Requirements

This role is all about constantly creating fresh new opportunities for Dsg and the Singapore design brand. You must have/be:

  • A mature and responsible brand, marketing or communications professional with a minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in a brand role. Work experience in both the agency and client sides would be great.
  • A results-oriented self-starter and committed team player who can work in a fast-paced environment, deliver within tight timelines.  
  • Passionate about branding and storytelling, with a track record of bringing brands to life across multiple platforms.
  • Proven track record of developing, leading and rolling out Brand campaigns across multiple markets, with an understanding of diverse cultural markets.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, be a proactive problem solver and have the ability to project manage.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
